The Solution To Urinary Incontinence, Breakthrough Treatment.

Urinary Incontinence has many names: weakened pelvic floor muscles,  ‘accidental pee-pee’ Syndrome and many more.

But seriously, there is a grave issue that people suffer from called urinary incontinence (and yes, fecal incontinence too) that affects 200 million people worldwide.

The fact is that there is help available for it now, and we need to share it with the world.

What are the 4 types of urinary incontinence?

There are 4 major types of urinary incontinence, they are:

Stress incontinence:  Urine can sometimes accidentally leak when added pressure is put onto the bladder such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising or heavy lifting. It can be caused by weak pelvic floor muscles.

Urge incontinence: Sometimes associated with neurological conditions and bladder muscles. This type of incontinence will give people a sudden urge to quickly use the bathroom.

Overflow incontinence: Comparable to stress and urge incontinence, but people may then have an additional sensation of the bladder being full and can also affect men. People will also experience a weak stream, strain to use the bathroom, and can dribble afterward.

Other symptoms and types can be found in people who suffer from passive incontinence due to dementia or other neurological conditions, as well as Reflex types which are often a result of spinal cord injury.

What causes urinary incontinence?

Urinary incontinence is so common it can affect up to one in two women (or 30-50 percent).

It happens to women of all ages although it becomes more likely the older you are. Incontinence is common around the world and affects people not only physically but emotionally. Many people find it embarrassing they don’t seek help.

Some causes can include:

Weakened pelvic floor muscles: This is very common and can happen after childbirth or surgery. During pregnancy, the extra weight and changes in hormones weaken your pelvic floor – the ‘hammock’ of muscles.

Oestrogen Levels: Sometimes people who are in their middle-ages or older women who have fluctuating oestrogen levels can experience a mix of different types of incontinence such as added pressure on the bladder through coughing and sneezing and leakage due to the sudden urge to use the bathroom.

Over-activity of the muscles: Leakage of urine and the sudden urge to use the bathroom can be associated with the over-activity of the muscles that contract the bladder.

Injuries & Neurological conditions: Other possible causes for urinary incontinence can be seen in people who have neurological conditions and who experience issues with mobility, dexterity, dementia and the inability to respond to bladder signals.

How do you fix urinary incontinence?

There are many ways to fix urinary incontinence. Thanks to advancements in science and medicine mean that we have a variety of things that people can do to help solve the problem.

Exercise & Physiotherapy: Making it a daily habit of tightening and contracting your muscles (imagining that you’re trying to stop your urine flow). Sometimes people might refer to a physio or look at replacing jogging and aerobic exercises with gentle stretching and pilates.

Health: cutting caffeine, quitting smoking, taking care of yourself and making sure you don’t lift heavy objects, losing a little bit of weight loss can all be helpful in fixing incontinence.

Medication: Some doctors will advise medication which will help relax the bladder muscles that play an important role in urge incontinence.

Surgery: Can be considered an option to support or ‘hold up’ the bladder or urethra (the tube that links your bladder to the outside of your body) This should only be considered if other treatments aren’t successful.

Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) offers patients a safe and non-invasive solution where electromagnetic waves are delivered into the muscles, causing them to contract, strengthen and tighten.

The completely non-invasive procedure using FMS – the TESLAChair

TESLA Chair, a completely non-invasive procedure that strengthens muscles that can cause ‘accidents’ when people cough, sneeze and jump.

To find out how the TESLAChair works click here.

The technology was developed over a decade ago, and until recently, the only other fixes have to do your own pelvic floor exercises, taking medication, and sometimes having surgery for extreme cases.

The treatment is completely safe, painless and is used by Gyno & Urogyno specialists around the world.

Not only does this issue affect accidental ‘pee pee’ but the causes and linked factors are very serious and can have a big impact on the quality of life such as pregnancy, post-childbirth, and obesity.

That’s why it’s so important to fix it.

How it works is like this:

You will sit in the TESLA Chair fully clothed. It delivers powerful electromagnetic waves directly into your pelvic area. During this time the powerful magnets induce a current that triggers the motor nerve system of the body, stimulating the muscles to contract & therefore get bigger, stronger and tighter. This type of power would only be matched by doing a lifetime of repeated pelvic floor exercises on your own.

This type of treatment is recommended as early prevention of getting worse with age. After about six sessions, the results are seen. Confidence grows and embarrassment completely avoided.

The breakthrough technology is also used to treat sexual dysfunction and chronic pain in the pelvis and lower back.
